Aftercare
After your appointment.
Good aftercare protects the work. Your own instructions are given to you at the studio; this page explains what they are for and what to expect while your lips settle.
Your instructions come from the studio
At the end of your appointment the practitioner takes you through aftercare for your lips and what was done to them, and you leave with it written down. Those are the instructions to follow.
A website cannot know how your skin took the pigment or how much work was done, so this page does not try to substitute for that. It covers what aftercare is for, what to expect while healing, and when to be in touch.
Why aftercare decides the result
Pigment sits in living skin, and the skin is recovering from having it placed there. How that recovery goes is most of what determines the colour you are left with. Aftercare is not a formality at the end of the appointment — it is the part of the treatment you carry out.
The colour you leave with is not the colour you keep
Immediately after treatment, lips look darker and more saturated than the healed result will be. That is expected. The before-and-after photographs on this site are labelled immediately after treatment for exactly that reason.
Permanent makeup results vary with skin type, undertone, lifestyle, healing and aftercare. Judge the outcome once it has settled, not on day two.
The top-up finishes the work
A first treatment lays the foundation. The 4–6 week top-up (€100, 1½ hours) is where the settled colour is assessed and a second layer is worked in where it is needed. A top-up appointment is recommended for the best healed result.
Later on, colour fades. Returning clients book a refresh priced by how long it has been.
When to be in touch
If healing is not going the way it was described to you, contact the studio. Early is better — the practitioner would rather answer a question that turns out to be nothing.
If you have signs of infection, an allergic reaction, or any symptom that worries you — spreading redness or swelling, heat, discharge, fever, or difficulty breathing — seek medical care rather than waiting for a reply. In Finland, call 112 in an emergency.
